Camera Project 2011

I set the goal of taking photos with 52 different cameras. It was my Camera Project 2011. I was successful at achieving this goal. I took photos with 58 different cameras. I would be over 52 if I did not count the front cameras on the iOS devices I used.

To achieve this goal I asked Friends if I could use their camera



I went into Target and Best Buy with my own memory card to try demo units.



I used every camera I own.



I got to shoot a lot of cameras I would not shoot any other way.



I think this was a good challenge. In 2012 I will be doing a different camera challenge.

My first 100,000 view Flickr Photo

Above is my first 100,000 view Flickr photo. It is not surprising that a photo of two attractive women in costumes at Comic Con is my most viewed photo. On most days this photo is in my top ten most views. This accounts for about 2.4% of my total flickr photo views.

I have been watching this view number for about a year now. It looks like it passed 100,000 views on Saturday. I thought there were still about 100 left. I guess I was not playing that good of attention.

I would love to know which of my Flickr friends photos have a 100000 views. As I have said before I am addicted to Flickr views.

20000 Photos on Flickr

A few months ago I wrote about my flickr philosophy. In a nut shell it comes down to posting as many photos as I can. If it is good at all, it should go up. I want Flickr to be my internet photo memory bank.

Passing the 20,000 photo mark on Flickr got me thinking about my photographic goals and priories. I have decided to come up with a list.

1. Take at least one photo everyday
2. Post photos to flickr 6 days a week
3. Have a camera with me at all times
4. Scan all my old paper photos
5. Post most my scans to flickr
6. Have fewer than 1% of my photos have no views
7. Have fewer than 10% of my photos have fewer than 10 views
8. Add tags to all my photos
9. Tag the people in all my photos.
10. Add All my photos to at least 5 flickr groups

Memory is a funny thing. If I tell this story of this trip, I will say that I drove up US 101 to 99 North in Oregon, driving up the coast the whole way, just so I could get a photo of this statue. I know that is not the truth, but it sounds like a good story.

When I was in high school I was the go to guy to wear a costume for my church group, CYO. I was the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus without problem. I have not worn a costume in years.

I have been to Mt. St. Helen's three times. I can recall those three trips very clearly. Twice I went by myself and once I went with Kathy. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. It is striking.

After Wonder Con and Flickr's Second Birthday Party, I left my bag in the back of a taxi. I was luck enough to get it back. Here were the things in the bag. I was happy to get the pictures back.

I love the idea of an African American Superman. I would love to see DC Comics release this as a comic. This photo has 18858 views.

I took this photo because I knew that I wanted to be able to have this a proposal that I could post on line. I know doing it via Flickr would be really cool. I knew that I wanted to make it part of Flickr. This is one of my favorite photos of me of all time. We still call this shirt the "first date shirt."

This is the Iron Spider costume of Marvels Civil War. This photo has 18,849 views. I do not remember why it has so many. People love Spiderman, that is true.

I am looking forward to Wonder Con this year. It might be the only comic book convention I go to this year.

I was walking down the street and I saw someone walking around with a cockatoo. It turned out to be a friend taking their bird for a walk. It is not something you see very day.

Tight Batgirl Photo, there is no mystery why this photo has a lot of views. Most of my most viewed photos are girls in costume at Comic Con. This photo has 14,612 views when I blogged it.

Most Viewed Photos: Comic Con 2009: Pedobear

This is a photo of Pedo Bear. It got a lot of views being tweeted all over Brazil. This photo was stolen by a San Luis Obispo Sheriff's Department and used on a flier saying that Pedo Bear is not Harmless. After that Gawker credited the wrong person with the photo. This is my photo, but I did not get a dime from anyone, Oh well. This photo has 13,990 views as of today.

It is easy to see why this photo gets a lot of views. Let run down the list, Comic Con (check), Costume (check), Skin Tight (check), and Beautiful Woman (check). That gets a lot of views. When I wrote this entry this photo has 12,620 views.

Most Viewed Photos: Tattoo from a dream

This is my 20th most view photo. When I am writing this it has 11,184 views. That is pretty good because this photo is not all that good. Tattoo photos get a lot of views. I wonder if people like looking at other people's tattoos or if they want to get ideas for their own tattoo.
